tumblr.

The newest craze in blogging. Launched two years ago, tumblr. lets you share anything.
It's like Facebook, Myspace, iTunes, Flickr, Twitter, email, all of the above combined into one.
You can even search categories, and see what other people are posting.
I haven't explored with it too much...but it seems interesting.

loomstate

Loomstate was founded as a casual brand dedicated to creating demand for certified organic cotton using socially and environmentally responsible methods of production.

Currently, Target has a limited edition collection in select stores. (The nearest one to me is in Cary).

SF Skateboarder's Dream House

Ms. Bigbie — who had been collecting furniture since she was 14 (about the same time she started skating) and had designed a skateboard clothing line by 16 and graphics for the indie record company Tooth + Nail by 18 — worked at the British furniture design company Precious McBane. Mr. Shapiro became an assistant to Richie Hopson, a British photographer.

When he was offered a job as a team manager for Think Skateboards in San Francisco, they returned, and Ms. Bigbie became a stylist for the do-it-yourself magazine Ready Made. They moved into a rental cottage in the Mission along with two dogs (Sen-C, a mutt, and Rollie, a black Labrador), his musical instruments and her furniture.

Ms. Bigbie filled it with vintage and contemporary furniture, British wallpapers, skateboard art, her boyfriend’s skateboard photographs and the work of friends from the Rhode Island School of Design. She played with Pantone color chips, searching out hues that turned the traditional Victorian filigrees and embellishments of the house into abstractions. And three days after the house was finished in 2007, Mr. Burnham hired her.

Herb & Dorothy take 2

I went to the North Carolina premier of Herb & Dorothy last night at the Weatherspoon.
They WERE cute! A bit eccentric but cute.
The curator of Weatherspoon said that they will not be able to show the collection for at least 2 years, which I guess I will be taking a vacation to see the exhibit in a few years.

philly goes green with moss installation edina tokodi

i love moss

vertical garden of moss.

moss walls.

moss for bed. at the london design festival: Over at the elegant and atmospheric 100% Norway show, we loved Lovetann's pavillion, with a wall of living Reindeer Moss (moss supplied by the folk at Norske Moseprodukter AS we're told). It looked like an Amazonian rain forest seen from the sky - fantastic. from http://wemadethis.typepad.com/we_made_this/2006/09/london_design_f_1.html

GREEN GRAFFITI by Artist Edina Tokodi by Abigail Doan

Eco-minded street artist Edina Tokodi is putting a new spin on green guerilla tactics in the trendy art enclave of Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Tokodi’s site-specific moss installations of prancing animal figures and camouflage outgrowths are the talk of a local urban neighborhood typically accustomed to gallery hype and commercial real estate take-overs. Unlike the market-driven art featured in sterile, white box galleries, the work of Tokodi is meant to be touched, felt, and in turn touch you in the playful ways that her animated installations call to mind a more familiar, environmentally friendly state in the barren patches of urban existence.

San Salvadore beauties

Zelaya's organic cotton goods are too beautiful to choose just one.

Handmade out of raw cotton fabric called manta and comes in its natural color. It features and intricate geometric hand embroidered pattern on the front. The thread has been dyed with chamomille to get the beautiful golden tonalities. It also features a handcarved wooden handle and has two pockets inside.
